






The State of Texas requires that all child care workers must have the following certification:
The Department of Family and Protective Services completes background checks for all personnel, typically completed within one of week of hiring.
To bridge the gap between when an indiviudal is hired and the background check is completed by the state, each new hire must sign a notarized Affidavit for Applicants for Employment, confirming they have nothing criminal in their background that would prevent them from working in a child care setting.
